Turtle Watch Guided Program - Smyrna Beach Departure
Canaveral National Seashore Turtle Watch Tours
Participants meet their guide at the Apollo Beach Visitor Center and caravan by private vehicle to a parking lot near the beach. The group may walk up to 1/2 mile in soft sand to reach the location where the turtle will be observed laying her nest and returning to the ocean. The evening concludes by helping to protect her nest by putting a screen across the egg chamber and marking the nest for research purposes.
Tours will be offered on Friday and Saturday beginning June 1, 2024 and ending July 27, 2024. Vistitors will need to meet at Apollo Beach Visitor Center. Address: 7611 South Atlantic Avenue New Smyrna Beach FL.32169

Need to Know
- Age Requirement
Participants must be at least 8 years old
- Accessibility
Participants must be able to walk ½ mile in soft sand at night
- Tour Time
The Turtle Watch Tour starts at 8:00 pm and ends at midnight. Participants must arrive by 7:45 pm.
- Transportation
Participants must arrive in a personal vehicle and will caravan to the turtle watch location together. All participants will depart together and must remain with the group until the end of the viewing session.
- Clothing
Dress in light weight long-sleeved and long-legged clothing. Bring bug spray and water for drinking.
- Print Your Ticket
Please bring a printed copy of your ticket and present it to your tour guide upon arrival.
- Group ticket
Max number of tickets one customer may purchase is 6.
