SOUTH RIM CAMPGROUND (CO), Black Canyon National Park, CO

Description

South Rim of the Black Canyon NP is located 15 miles east of Montrose, CO. Evening programs are provided during the summer. Cell phone coverage is very limited, if at all. Pay phone is available near campground. Sites in Loop A are open year round and available on a walk-in basis outside the reservation season. Sites in Loop B are available May through October, outside reservable season on a "first-come, first serve" basis. Amenities: Vault toilets, drinking water only, 30 amp and 50 amp electrical hook-ups are available in Loop B only. For further information go to: www.nps.gov/blca/.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservable season is May 16th through September 6th. Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. During the reservation season, other campsites are available on a "first-come, first serve" basis. Sites in Loop A are open year round and available on a walk-in basis outside the reservation season. Sites in Loop B are available May through October, outside the reserveable season on a "first-come, first serve" basis. Unreserved campsites may be available as "first-come, first serve". Please call the National Park Service at 970-641-2337 for more information about this availability. 8 person maximum. 2 vehicle maximum. 1PM checkout. Handicap access: A21, B1. There is a limit of 2 primary recreation camping units per camp pad. Motorhomes and trailers over 37 feet not recommended due to restricted clearance and parking space. CAUTION: Bears frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers. No generator use in any campsite. Water is hauled in, please conserve.Entrance fee charged.

DRINKING WATER ONLY! NO WATER FOR R.V. FILLING AND NO DUMP STATION.
