The Swan Lake Recreation Area is located near the Village of Swan Lake at the north end of the scenic Swan Valley in Northwest Montana. Offering a central location to explore Glacier Country, including great hiking opportunities in the Swan Mountains, and boating and fishing on adjacent Swan Lake and nearby Flathead Lake, the Swan Lake Recreation Area is a very popular place to visit within an hour's drive of Glacier National Park. In addition, the Swan River National Wildlife Refuge, with its wildlife and bird observation area is located within one mile of the campground.

The Swan Lake Day Use area features a large boat launch, beach, and lakeside reservable group site. The Day Use area is perfect for families, reunions, weddings, and large group events.

This location is also available on a first-come, first-served basis as parking is limited. Once on-site, follow the posted instructions. For additional information, you can download and sign into the free Recreation.gov mobile app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited cellular service: https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app 

If purchasing in advance, please print pass and display on vehicle dash. If unable to print, please write the pass confirmation on a day use envelope and place it in the fee collection tube (or give it to your day use host). Display the receipt on the driver's side dash with the facing up.

Passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.

The pass is valid till 10pm of the date listed on the pass.

The annual pass is valid one year from date of purchase. Please print annual pass and display in vehicle dash.

No Golden Age Passport or America the Beautiful Interagency Pass discounts are applicable for the annual pass.
