Swords Recreation Area Day Use Pass

Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest

On the shore of Lake Oconee, visitors to the Oconee Ranger District will find the Swords Recreation Area. Swords Recreation Area is open year-round and offers boating, fishing, and swimming opportunities for Forest users. Families can enjoy the picnicking opportunities and newly renovated boat ramp in this secluded, yet scenic locale.

There is a day-use fee per vehicle of $5 per day or $25 for an annual pass. This pass is for day-use only amenities and does not include camping. On the Oconee National Forest, the annual pass covers the amenity fee associated with the recreation areas that are listed below:

The $5 day pass can be purchased on-site using a credit card through the Recreation.gov mobile app. Once on-site, follow the posted Scan & Pay instructions. You will need to download the free Recreation.gov mobile app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. All visitors are required to display a printed copy of their Day Use pass, with QR code visible, on the dashboard of their vehicle for the duration of their stay.

If purchasing onsite, please have the Recreation.gov app downloaded prior to arrival. Once purchased please write down the confirmation number on provided envelope and post in the vehicle dashboard.

This pass does not guarantee parking availability. For your safety, please remember that parking outside of designated areas is discouraged and visitors who park illegally may be fined and towed. This pass is valid until 11:59 PM of the date listed on the pass and only for the date and vehicle specified for this pass.

Passes are non-transferrable between operators, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.

Cell phone connectivity on the forest may be limited, plan ahead.
