AKERS (MO), Ozark National Scenic Riverways, MODescriptionOpen all year round. Modern restrooms are located at the Akers Ranger Station. Vault Toilets located in the Group Campground are open year round. Water is shut off Oct 15 thru April 14 to prevent frozen pipes . Canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, inner tubing, are popular activities on this clear spring fed river. The Current River is cool and refreshing on hot summer days. During the summer months, Saturdays are the most crowded time to floot the river. Spring and Fall are prime times to enjoy the River and encounter less crowds.Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationReservations must be made 7 days in advance. If you attempt to make a reservation less than 7 days away all campsites will be listed as unavailable. This does not necessarily mean that all are reserved. Some campsites may be available but only on a first come first serve basis. Group Campsites are TENT Camping ONLY (except at Round Spring). Quiet Hours are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Pets must be on a leash at all times. CAUTION: Diving from river bluffs is illegal, dangerous and can result in injury or death. The following items are prohibited on the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers: Styrofoam, glass containers, Jell-o shots, beer kegs and beer bongs. There are no hook-ups available at this campground.
