Attention: All campsites are now available for April 15, 2013 to October 15, 2013 reservations. Please keep in mind when making a reservation, the campsite may not look like the available photo as the island continues to change with each strong wind and wave. The impacts of Hurricane Sandy will be felt at Assateague Island National Seashore for a long time, we appreciate your patience while we continue to rebuild and repair. Repairs to facilities in and around the campgrounds will continue throughout the summer months. The fencing surrounding the walk-in tent only sites has been compromised by the hurricane. As a result, the wild horses will have easy access to these campsites. Food, drinks and garbage MUST be properly stored away from wildlife in lockable hard-sided storage containers. The horses are not tame; bites and kicks often occur without warning.
