BIG MEADOW CAMPGROUND IS CURRENTLY OPEN FOR FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED ONLY. IT WILL OPEN FOR RESERVATIONS SOON.
Big Meadow Campground lies at about 6,400 feet elevation on the Stanislaus National Forest. It is located 21 miles east of Arnold, California. Breathtaking views abound, and wildlife viewing opportunities include marmots, squirrels, and deer.
Big Meadow has 65 individual camping sites.
Big Meadow Group camp is easily accessible from Highway 4 and can accommodate a maximum of 50 guests and 20 vehicles.
A camp host lives on site. They are available during daylight hours and at night during emergencies.
Big Meadow Group is a reservation only campground. 50 people and 20 vehicles.
Non-potable water is available at Big Meadow Campground for use by campers. Trash and bathrooms are available. Potable water is available for campers at nearby Lake Alpine campgrounds, as well as Lake Alpine Lodge.
Cash is required for all first come first serve campsites. There is no ATM in the vicinity of the big Meadow Campground. Please plan accordingly.
From Arnold, California, take Highway 4 east for 25 miles to the Big Meadow Campground.
