OverviewBrushy Creek Campground is situated along the banks of Lake O' the Pines in the piney woods of east Texas, near the border of Louisiana.Natural Features:Lake O' the Pines includes about 18,700 acres of water and 9,000 acres of land, encompassing an area so large it spans five counties. Recreation:Birders are encouraged to bring their binoculars as Brown-headed Nuthatches are unusually common in the large pine trees found all around the lake. Along the water, rare gulls including Sabine's, Thayer's, Great Black-backed, and Laughing Gulls, make their home. Visitors should also watch overhead for Bald Eagles. Facilities:Alley Creek features 76 spacious campsites, ranging from more primitive tent sites to full-hookup RV sites. Nearby Attractions:The nearby towns of Jefferson and Marshall offer plenty of historic and tourist attractions, and Texas Wildflower Trail routes are located along the roads surrounding the lake.
