Overview

Cal-Ida Campground is located on Highway 49, across the road from the North Yuba River, 23 miles from Downieville. Visitors enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities in the area, including hiking, hunting, fishing, canoeing and gold panning.

Natural Features:

The campground lies across the highway from the North Yuba River. Oak, maple and locust trees are scattered throughout the campground, offering some shade.

Recreation:

The North Yuba River offers swimming, wading and rainbow trout fishing. Seasonal rafting, kayaking and tubing are popular water activities.

A network of trails crisscrosses through the surrounding area. The Yuba River Trail can be accessed nearby.

Facilities:

The campground offers several single-family campsites, some of which are designated for tent camping only. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided.

Know Before You Go

In accordance with standard industry practices, Tahoe Recreation will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the "second vehicle" in each single family campsite, and on the "third and fourth vehicle" in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
Bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers
An additional $2 per day fee is charged for reservations during Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends
Utility hookups and showers are not available
This facility is operated by Tahoe Recreation, doing business as California Land Management and comments are welcome; forms are available from campground hosts or online
