Attention: Sequoia and Kings Canyon is experiencing a significantly low snow water content year. We anticipate that Dorst Creek Campground will run out of water this camping season. We will no longer be taking advanced reservations for the 2014 camping season; however reservations already made will still be honored. If we need to close the campground we will help you find a different campsite in a different park campground at no additional cost. If you have questions please call 559-565-4404 or 559-565-4487.
Construction Alert: Construction will be occurring on the Generals Highway starting on June 2nd between Eleven Range and Wolverton Junction. Delays can be expected to last up to one hour with scheduled traffic releases at the top of every hour between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The construction schedule is expected to change throughout the course of the summer; please obtain more information from the entrance stations and visitor centers upon arrival. Vehicles traveling to Lodgepole or Dorst Creek Campground from the southern entrance will have to travel through the construction zone.
Federal Highways Advisory: It is strongly recommended that vehicles over the length of 22 feet access Lodgepole Campground, Dorst Creek Campground, and the Giant Forest from the Highway 180 entrance into Kings Canyon National Park. The portion of the Generals Highway accessed from Highway 198 and the southern entrance is narrow and steep and is not advised for vehicles over the length of 22 feet.
