The George Washington Memorial Parkway was designed for recreational driving. It links sites that commemorate important episodes in American history and preserve habitat for local wildlife. The parkway and its associated trails provide a scenic place to play and rest in the busy Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Directions:

The George Washington Memorial Parkway runs between Mount Vernon and I-495 (the Beltway), at exit 45.  Clara Barton and Glen Echo are located in Maryland on the Clara Barton Parkway.  Take exit 41 from I-495.  Great Falls Park is on Georgetown Pike.  Take exit 44 to route 193 West, the park's entrance will be on the right at the first traffic light.
