Know Before You Go

Site

The Ft. Pickens Group Camping Area is located just beyond the Ranger Station on the north side of the road in the Ft. Pickens area of Gulf Islands National Seashore. Throughout the year, this area is reservable for bona fide groups such as service, educational, therapeutic or non-profit organizations. The area is available for groups with a minimum of ten and a maximum of forty people, allows tent camping only, has access to numerous trails and is within short walking distance to Pensacola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. There are picnic tables, bathrooms with flush toilets, unheated showers, and a large fire circle. Persons camping in the group area are limited to the facilities (showers and restrooms) in the group area and may not use the facilities in the other campgrounds. Parking is limited, carpooling is recommended.

For groups between 10-25 people, the camping fee is $20 per night. For groups of 26-40 people, the fee is $30 per night. Check-out is at noon and reservations may be made up to 12 months in advance. For arrivals during the months of November through February, please call 850-934-2622 to make reservations.

Once reserved, you are required to check-in from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Campground Registration office, located approximately five miles beyond the entrance to the park. Special arrangements must be made to check in outside of these times. While using the Group Camping area, please keep the gate closed and locked behind you, remember that pets are not permitted within the camping area or on beaches, and fires are only permitted within grills. We hope you enjoy this beautiful area!

If you have any additional questions or concerns, or need to check-in outside of established times, please call the Fort Pickens Campground Office, at (850) 934-2622 from 8:00AM to 5:00PM (Central Time).
