Description

Eau Galle Recreation Area with its 630 scenic acres offers something for everyone. Highland Ridge Campground has 45 campsites; 35 electric, 3 non-electric and 7 walk-in tent sites. Other amenities include a dump station, hot showers, pay phone, playground, hiking trails and a group shelter. There is also a 150-acre lake great for fishing, swimming and canoeing. Crystal Cave, golf courses, gift stores and other attractions are within minutes.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. Campsites 28-38 are close together and have little screening, tent camping is not recommended. The campground is open from late April to November. Reservations are available from April 30 - September 30. Electric motors only are allowed on Eau Galle Lake and access to the lake from the campground involves steep terrain. Swimming beach is a 10-mile drive. No pets at beach. Foot trails to lake involve hilly terrain. No horses in campground (Call for more info on camping with horses.) Camping tents, trailers, recreational vehicles and other equipment must be completely accommodated on the camping pad and driveway. Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am and are strictly enforced. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF) has prohibited the possession, storage or transportation of any firewood that originates from outside the state of Wisconsin or that originates from more than 25 miles from the destination point. The exception is firewood gathered on the CNNF. This is to prevent the spread the Emerald Ash Borer and other exotic insect pests. Firewood is available at or near camping facilities.
Pets are allowed but must be leashed and not left unattended.
No firearms or fireworks allowed in campground.

Interstate 94 east from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Exit 24. Take County Road B at Exit 24 south approximately 2 miles. Follow highway signs east on County Road N for another 2 miles until it intersects County Road NN. Go south on NN for 2 miles until campground entrance sign, turn right.
