With 1,500 square feet of indoor space, including two bedrooms, one full bathroom, two living rooms, and a fully-equipped kitchen, the Kent Springs Cabin accommodates up to 8 people comfortably. It also has a large deck overlooking a creek, and parking is available on site. Sleeping accommodations include a queen bed, a twin over double bunk bed, a roll-away single bed, and a double futon couch. The kitchen is equipped with an electric range/oven, refrigerator, and microwave. There is a large dining table with benches, and a fireplace in the large living room. The cabin is largely barrier-free to provide access to more visitors.
Although the cabin has several amenities, guests must also provide some of their own supplies, including food, sleeping bags, linens, towels, dish soap, matches, a first aid kit, toilet paper and garbage bags. The Forest Service is unable to provide firewood and propane for the outdoor grill at this time, but guests are welcome to bring their own. Please note that the indoor fireplace is not maintained for use.
Kent Springs Cabin is located in the heart of Madera Canyon within the Santa Rita Mountains. Spanning four life zones and several ecosystems between desert and mountain peaks, the area has become a well-known "sky island," supporting abundant and biologically diverse plant and animal communities. The area supports a variety of wildlife, including white-tailed and mule deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, and squirrels. Black bear, Coati, foxes, ring-tailed cats, bobcats, and mountain lion are more elusive. Sixteen species of bats have been recorded in the canyon.
It is recommended that visitors wear appropriate clothing and use insect repellent; July through October is chigger season.

Group events (more than eight people) including weddings and family reunions are NOT permited. The Kent Springs Cabin is for overnight use only.
Access to the cabin is through a locked gate; the gate has a combination lock, and the house key is located in a lockbox on the doorframe on the front door; the combinations for the gate and the lockbox are given out once a reservation is made.
Cleaning service is NOT provided. Before leaving, renters are expected to leave the cabin clean; this includes washing dishes, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down countertops, cleaning bathrooms & showers, and removing ALL trash. Pets are permitted in the cabin, but renters MUST clean-up after their pets.
Guests MUST provide some of their own supplies including: food, sleeping bags, linens, pillows, towels, dish soap, matches, a first aid kit, toilet paper and garbage bags. Keep the building and grounds clean to deter squirrel, mice, rats, bears, and other wildlife from area.
Cell phone coverage is unreliable at the cabin and within Madera Canyon.
The access road leading into the cabin is passable by passenger car, but high clearance vehicles are highly recommended.
Please do NOT flush anything but toilet paper to prevent clogs or damage to the septic system.
A cabin manual is located inside the cabin to answer specific questions during your stay as well as provide you with information on recreation opportunities in the area..
Off-highway vehicles are also only allowed on designated roads and trails. Due to heavy traffic by passenger cars, trucks, RVs, and trailers, it is not recommended for off-road vehicle use.
The house is located in a desert environment; please be aware that scorpions, snakes and other insects may be present at any time.
The cabin is a no-smoking facility. Reservation dates subject to weather conditions. This cabin does not honor Golden Passport Discounts.
From the intersection of I-10 and I-19 in Tucson, travel south on 1-19 about 35 miles to the Continental Road exit (Exit 63) in Green Valley, Arizona. Turn left (east) onto Continental Road and go approximately 1 mile to the junction with the Madera Canyon/White House Canyon Road. Turn right (southeast) and travel approximately 14 miles into Madera Canyon. Stay on the paved road. The signed access road to the cabin is the second left past the Madera Kubo Bed and Breakfast
