Know Before You Go

Site

General: Primitive conditions - no electricity, plumbing, or cookstove; has outhouse-style pit toilet, separate meat cache.

Access: Float plane or boat. The cabin is 40 air miles from Kodiak City (flight time: approximately 25 minutes).

Water: Fresh water 50 yards from the cabin; easiest access is at low tide. Boil all drinking water.

Recreation Opportunities: Fishing: Pink salmon, fair in late July and August; Coho, good in August and September.

Hunting: Bear, fair; Deer, good; Elk, good. Other: Excellent photography opportunities, tidepooling and shoreline exploration.
