Know Before You Go


General: Primitive conditions - no electricity, plumbing, or cookstove; has outhouse-style pit toilet, separate meat cache.

Access: Float plane or boat. The cabin is 47 air miles from Kodiak City (flight time: approximately 30 minutes).

Water: Fresh water stream ¼ mile west of cabin. Boil all drinking water.

Size: 24' X 32'

Recreation Opportunities: Fishing: Pink salmon and Dolly Varden, good in July and August from beaches and in Deadman Creek. Silvers, good in August and September. - Hunting: Bear, good; Deer, good in October through December; Mountain goat, good; and Waterfowl, fair.

Deadman Bay Cabin is a large cabin with a vaulted ceiling. This cabin has both propane and fuel oil heaters. It maybe necessary to bring extra fuel during cold weather months.
