OverviewNew Fork Lake Campground is located next to scenic New Fork Lake, at the edge of the Wind River Range in northwestern Wyoming. It sits at an elevation of 7,800 feet. Visitors enjoy hiking and horseback riding into the adjacent Bridger Wilderness, as well as boating and fishing on the lake.Natural Features:The campground is made up of a loop of single sites, which is situated closer to the lakeshore, among a grove of aspens. A separate group camping area lies in a grassy meadow surrounded by lodgepole pines, which provide only limited shade. Wildlife and summer wildflowers are abundant in the area. Recreation:The 1,070-acre New Fork Lake offers great boating, canoeing and swimming. Anglers fish for kokanee salmon and brook, lake and rainbow trout. A large cement boat ramp is located a mile and a half from the campground, at the lake's northwestern shore. Facilities:The campground's large group site can accommodate up to 150 people, with picnic and serving tables, grills and parking. The lake is not visible from the group campsite. Turn north onto State Highway 352 and travel just over 14 miles. Turn east onto New Fork Lake Road, which is gravel, and travel almost 4 miles to the campground.
