OverviewVisitors at Pendleton Bend enjoy the campground's placement along the Arkansas River and near the junction of the Arkansas Post Canal.Natural Features:Pendleton Bend is on the banks of the Arkansas River, upstream of the Wilbur D. Mills Dam. The site sits along the track for migratory birds as they come and go from the Gulf of Mexico, making it a destination for birders. Recreation:Hiking, fishing, boating and hunting are all popular activities for campers. Facilities:Pendleton Bend offers 31 campsites with electric and water hookups, 25 of which may be reserved. Additional amenities include hot showers, a group picnic shelter and a playground. Nearby Attractions:Nearby, visitors can see the national memorial at Arkansas Post. Here, Henri de Tonti established the first European village west of the Mississippi River in 1686.
