FIREWOOD ALERT!!!!!: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like for you to be aware of the potential serious threat to our Nation's forest from the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The EAB is a small insect that feeds on and kills ash trees and is transported via infested wood products, including firewood. Please visit the following website: http://www.emeraldashborer.info/ , to see if your area of the state has been infected and help us to slow down the progression of this pest by not bringing firewood with you to our campgrounds. To help eliminate the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer please do not remove firewood from the campground "burn it". PEOPLES CREEK (MO), WAPPAPELLO LAKE, MODescriptionLocated in the Southeastern Ozark foothills of Missouri, the People's Creek Recreation Area on the Wappapello Lake Project is a place everyone can enjoy. The day use portion of this recreation area includes a two-lane boat ramp with courtesy loading dock, a disabled accessible fishing pier, a swimming beach, one large picnic shelter and two small picnic shelters and two comfort stations. The 57-site campground portion of this area has an upper and lower campground. The lower area offers 37 electric campsites, a comfort station, a shower house, and lake frontage. The upper area, which is separate from the lower area, has 20 electric sites, comfort station and a picnic shelter.Services & Amenities:
