RIBBONWOOD EQUESTRIAN CG (CA), SAN BERNARDINO NF - FS, CA

Description

Located approximately 16 miles South-East of Palm Desert, California, at an elevation of 4, 000 ft, this campground is located in a chaparral brush/high desert environment. Roads and spurs are gravel. Parking spurs amy not be level. Flush toilets, hot showers, and potable water are provided. All campsites have tables, firerings, two horse corrals (10' X 10"). Campfires are allowed within the fire rings provided. Firewood is not sold at the campground. First come, first served sites are NOT available. Horseback riding is a popular activity at this site.

Alerts and Important Information

Effective September 1, 2009, through the end of the official 2009 fire season. All wood and charcoal fires are prohibited in all developed campgrounds , day use areas , and all other developed areas
Stoves using gas, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel are still allowed. Check with the local Ranger Station for current fire restrictions
  • Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance.
  • First-come, first served sites are NOT available.
  • The fee allows for a maximum of 8 people per campsite and entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle.
  • Holders of Golder Passports are entitled to 50% campsite fee reduction.Holder of the passport must be present.
  • There are no refunds for inclement weather.
  • Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed, check with the San Bernardino National Forest at 909-382-2922.
  • Gas, Jellied petroleum and presssurized liquid fuel stoves are allowed in campgrounds.
  • Campers can have Tents OR Campers.
  • Firewood is not sold at the site.
  • Please contact the San Jacinto Ranger District (909)382-2922 for Combination Lock Code.

From Palm Springs/Highway 111: take the Palms to Pines Highway (Hwy 74) South approximately 16 miles to the community of Pinyon. Take a left turn onto South Pinyon Drive (Watch for signs/directions). Entrance is on right-hand side.

From Anza: take highway 371 East to the Palms to Pines Highway (Hwy 74). Turn Right onto Hwy 74, and drive approximately 10 miles North to the community of Pinyon. Turn Right onto South Pinyon Drive (watch for Signs/Directions). Campground is on the right-hand side.
