Directions from the Portland, OR International Airport

  • Airport Way to I-205 South
  • 205 South to I-84 East (The Dalles exit)
  • I-84 East to exit 16 “Wood Village”
  • Right at stop sign on to 242nd
  • Follow 242nd to Burnside (approx. 3 mi.)
  • Left on Burnside (U-Haul rentals on the corner)
  • Burnside turns into Hwy 26 East at the Newport Bay restaurant
  • Follow Hwy 26 East to the Timberline Road turn-off (about 40 mi.); pass through the towns of Sandy, Welches, and Rhododendron.
  • Turn left on the the Timberline access road; follow the road to Timberline (6 mi.)

  • OR-35 South
  • US 26W (toward Portland)
  • Turn Right on Timberline Highway

Directions from Seattle, WA

  • 1-5 South to 1-205 South
  • Take 1-205 South to I-84 exit (The Dalles)
  • Follow signs to Mt Hood/Government Camp

Directions from Salem, OR

  • 1-5 North to 1-205
  • Take 1-205 North to Mt. Hood exit; turn right
  • Follow signs to Mt Hood/Government Camp
  • Follow Hwy 26 to the Timberline access road, just past Government Camp
