Turn right off AZ 67 on Forest Road (FR) 461 0.3 mile south of Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center. Go 5.5 miles west on FR 461 to FR 462. Turn right on FR 462 for 3 miles to the intersection of FR 22.

From FR 22 you turn left and drive12 miles to FR 425. On FR 425 turn right and go about 8 miles then turn right onto FR 233. Go approximately 4 miles and turn right onto FR 657. Drive 2 more miles to the Sowats Spring trailhead.

FRs 461, 462, 22 and 425 are suitable for passenger cars.
