Drain all water from equipment - Discard live bait before leaving - To kill Zebra Mussels, dry equipment for five days or wash with high pressure hot water VENANGO PARK (KS), KANOPOLIS LAKE, KSDescriptionLocated on the Smoky Hill River in central Kansas approximately 30 miles southwest of Salina. Kanopolis Lake is one of the oldest lakes in Kansas surrounded be vast open prairie. The area offers many recreational opportunities as well as fishing and hunting. A variety of game animals such as pheasant, quail, prairie chicken, whitetail deer, turkey, waterfowl, rabbit and squirrel can be found here.Venango campground offers 216 campsites, 56 with electric hookups. Other amenities include a dump station, shower building, boat ramp, beach, playground, primitive group camp area with shelter house, picnic shelters, ATV area and nature trail. 78 Sites with electricity, 32 of the 78 electric sites have water.
