Attention: Sequoia and Kings Canyon is experiencing a significantly low snow water content year. We anticipate that Dorst Creek campground will run out of water this camping season. We will no longer be taking advanced reservations for the 2013 camping season; however reservations already made will still be honored. Road Construction Notice: Road construction is occurring along a portion of the Generals Highway (Highway 198 East) approximately 10 miles east of the Ash Mountain Entrance Station to Sequoia National Park. Generals Highway project is expected to end by June 2013.

Vehicle length advisories are in place. Due to the Federal Highway Administration advisories, the National Park Service recommends the following for large vehicles entering and exiting Sequoia National Park via the Generals Highway and Hwy 198: Vehicles longer than 22 feet are not recommended between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest. If your vehicle exceeds the 22 foot length advisory, the National Park Service recommends accessing Lodgepole and Dorst Creek Campground from Highway 180 in Kings Canyon National Park.
