FIRE ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE - Fee and General Information

Reservation Fee:

A $20.00 permit fee is assessed for each permit. This includes a $6.00 service fee which is required for each permit reserved.

Change Policy:

Changes to your reservation are allowed as long as they are one day in advance to your permit. Changes to the number of the campers upon arrival for your permit cannot be processed. In order to make a change you will have to log-in to the website, www.recreation.gov, or call 1-877-444-6777. Changing the entry date or entry zone will require a new reservation and a $ 6.00 service fee. Changes to your reservation cannot be made after printing your permit. Your permit may be printed up to seven days in advance of your arrival date.

Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel your reservation at least two days in advance of your reservation, you will receive a refund of $14.00 which excludes the $6.00 service fee. If you cancel less than two days in advance, there will be no refunds.

No Show Policy:

If you do not cancel and decide not to use your reservation, none of the fees will be refundable. Please cancel your reservation if you are unable to use it as this opens space for others.

Parking/Ferry:

A separate fee may be necessary to park at Smith Point County Park if entering from the east. A separate fee may be necessary for the ferry trip to Watch Hill if entering from the west.

Annual Fee Cards:

America the Beautiful Interagency Passes, including senior, access, and annual passes, do not apply to backcountry overnight camping permits.
