Explore Your America with the Recreation.gov iPhone App
This on-the-go app can help you find the perfect campsite wherever you’re traveling!
We have apps for everything, so it makes sense that there is an app to help campers and RV’ers browse and locate campgrounds at national parks, forests and other federal recreation facilities. Best of all, the Recreation.gov iPhone app displays current availability information for federal campsites, cabins, day-use areas and other sites.
Your smart phone’s GPS allows you to browse campsites nearest to your current location which is great for the spontaneous—or lost—traveler looking for a place to rest their head for the evening.
Flexible search options on the Recreation.gov mobile app also enable you to filter and find a campsite based on city, state or zip, specific arrival and departure dates, type of campsite and by specific amenities like hook-ups, restrooms, pet allowance, etc.
You can view campgrounds on a map or toggle to a list, save your frequently used search settings and bookmark your favorite campgrounds. The Recreation.gov app also includes descriptions, details and photos of the campground and all its available campsites.
After deciding on your campsite, you’re just a touch away from completing a reservation on the Recreation.gov website or via the call center. Another touch will give you driving directions from where you are to the front gate of your campground.
You can download the app for free in the Apple iTunes store:
