Your Federal Lands Open for Visitation

What you need to know about reservation refunds following the Government shutdown (October 1 - 16, 2013)


Federal recreation facilities and activities that are normally open this time of year are once again open and ready for visitors.

Effective October 24, 2013, we have refunded fees for all reservations that we cancelled during the federal shutdown period, October 1 through 16, 2013. Please note that it may take a week or more for the refund to appear on your credit card statement.

Exceptions:

Reservations partially affected or interrupted: If your reservation was partially affected or interrupted, or if you cancelled your own reservation due to the uncertainty, you may need to request a refund through our Contact Us page. If you have not received notice of a refund by November 4, 2013, please contact us at 1-888-448-1474.

Reservations for free tour tickets and timed entries: Walkup tickets/entries are free at Independence National Historical Park, the USS Arizona Memorial, and the National Archives. When customers choose to book these free tickets through Recreation.gov, we charge a small $1.50 reservation convenience fee. We apologize, but as stated on the reservation pages for these facilities, the $1.50 convenience fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
