From Winthrop, WA take State Route 20-W for 13 miles. turn right on Lost River Road and travel 6.4 miles. Then turn right on Forest Road 50 and continue on Forest Road 50-5400 to Harts Pass then stay right and follow spur road to pass Pacific Crest Trailhead, Slat Pass to arrive at Slate Peak trailhead.
