Access is via the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad from Skagway, AK starting May 01 and ending September 30. Take the train to the Glacier whistle stop where the trailhead is. Make reservations at least 24 hours in advance for train transportation. Rate information and reservations are available by calling the railroad at 800-343-7373. From October 01 through April 30 there is no permissible access to the trail along the train tracks. Access along the tracks is trespass on private property. Additionally, the White Pass Yukon Route railroad company makes unscheduled maintenance trips on the tracks using rail equipment. Being on the tracks at any time could potentially be very dangerous. The only safe and legal access to the cabin during those months is by helicopter and landing at the helicopter pad near the trailhead.
