This trail is accessible is by boat or floatplane. The trailhead is located at the head of Thorne Arm, near the Fish Creek Cabin, 26 miles from Ketchikan. Both the cabin and trail are just outside the boundary of Misty Fiords National Monument Wilderness. A mooring buoy is located near the trailhead. Boaters are cautioned that this buoy offers little protection from south winds.
