You can access any one of the four trailheads for the Ward Creek trail by following the North Tongass Highway to the Revilla Road Junction. Turn right and follow to the intersection with the Ward Lake Road. The trailheads are located at the Ward Lake Day Use Area, Last Chance Campground, and from the trailhead parking area directly across from Ward Lake Road. The primary trailhead is located on Revilla Road, about 1 mile past the Ward Lake Junction, on the right-hand side of the road.
