Find Permits

Desolation Wilderness Information:

Desolation Wilderness is in the non-quota season October 1, 2012 to May 23, 2013. You still need either an overnight or day use permit for entry. Overnight permits can be purchased through this website, including on the day of entry. Be aware of changing weather conditions and that trailheads are closed due to snow during winter months.

For current conditions, check www.desowv.org/trail-conditions or call the Pacific Ranger Station, Pollock Pines (530-647-5415) or Lake Tahoe Basin, South Lake Tahoe (530-543-2600) Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:30.
