Overview

This free site offers 15 campsites, vault toilet, and one pull-through. Each campsite contains picnic table, fire ring/grill, and parking spur. The campground is located at the foot of the Shirley Mountains, a remote range in a large basin between the Medicine Bow and the Ferris Mountains. The Shirley Mountains offer fantastic hunting opportunities and fishing in Sage Creek. Typical use season is from June 1st through November 15th because the roads become impassable after heavy rain and snow melt. No horses allowed in campground.

Directions:

From Leo (north of Kortes Dam), go south 1 mile on BLM Road 3112 then east 13.5 miles on the Leo-Shirley Basin Road (County Road 102).
