Overview

This hatchery is nestled in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and located 11 miles downriver from Hoover Dam on the Arizona side of the Colorado River. The hatchery started rainbow trout production in 1962 and currently produces approximately 100,000 rainbow trout annually. The trout are stocked to supply and support recreational fishing opportunities for Lake Mohave and the surrounding area. Endangered fishes, like the razorback sucker and bonytail chub, which are endemic to the Colorado River, are also being grown for recovery efforts.
