Overview

The California Desert Conservation Area (CDCA) is a 25-million acre expanse of land in southern California designated by Congress in 1976. The Bureau of Land Management California Desert District administers over 10 millions acres in the CDCA with a mission to protect the natural, historic, recreational and economic riches of the California Desert. This Conservation Area is recognized for its special values and proximity to the population centers of southern California.
