Clear Creek Management Area, CABureau of Land Management
OverviewThe Bureau of Land Management Hollister Field Office issued a Temporary Closure effective May 1, 2008, to all forms of entry and public use for approximately 31,000 acres of public lands in the Clear Creek Management Area (CCMA) to protect public health and safety.
The Record of Decision (ROD) for the CCMA Proposed Resource Management Plan/Final Environmental Impact Statement will replace the current Temporary Closure Order and is expected to be complete sometime in 2012. With this decision, the area will be re-opened for limited public use. Recreational Activities:

Just past Gilroy, take the Highway 25 exit towards Hollister. Continue through town (Hwy. 25 runs through the town of Hollister) and head south for about 35 miles. You will pass by the Pinnacles National Monument. Turn left onto the Coalinga-Los Gatos Creek County road. Continue approximately 14 miles. At the BLM sign indicating the entrance to the Clear Creek Management Area, turn left. You will then be on the main road, Clear Creek Road, which is an unpaved road bisecting the Management Area. |
