From Interstate 90, exit 82 at Ninemile, take Montana 10 west to the Remount Road. Turn north (right) and continue to the Ninemile Ranger Station. From there, continue north on the Edith Peak Road #476 for 2 miles to Stoney Creek Road #5490. Turn northwest (left) onto road #5490 and proceed 1.5 miles to road #456. Turn west (left) onto road #456 and drive 1 mile to junction with road 2178. Turn north (right) onto road #2178 and proceed 6.6 miles to trailhead.There are three trails that lead to Ch-paa-qn Peak; collectively, they are called the "Ch-paa-qn Peak Complex." Of the three, this is the easiest hike. There is one steep pitch, but it is otherwise a moderate hike passing through many habitat types. This trail is recommended for first-time peak visitors and children.
