There are two ways to access Baldy Trailhead. Both begin by driving to the town of Buffalo Creek on Highway 126. The first access is by parking in the public parking areas adjacent to Highway 126 at Forest Service road 543. From here you would need to walk, bike, or horseback ride south on Forest Service 543 for approximately 5 miles to the Baldy Trailhead.

The alternative is to travel Highway 126 south of Buffalo Creek to Forest Service road 550. Travel west to the Buffalo Creek campground. Across the road is a parking area near the closed gate of Forest Service road 543. From here you would need to walk, bike, or horseback ride north on Forest Service 543 for approximately 1.5 miles north to the Baldy Trailhead.
