From Hwy 198 in the town of Three Rivers, take Mineral King Road east to the Lookout Point entrance of Sequoia National Park. (Do not enter the park at the Ash Mountain entrance on Hwy 198.) Continue along Mineral King Road to Atwell Mill Campground. Mineral King Road is very narrow and curvy. It may not be suitable for vehicles over 22 feet or vehicles with trailers. No gasoline is available in the parks. The road to Mineral King is generally open from late May through late October.
