Upper Chetco Trailhead accesses Upper Chetco Trail #1102 from the west, 27 miles northeast of Brookings, Oregon.  From Highway 101 in Brookings, OR go east on County road 784 (North Bank Chetco River Road) and follow for about 15 miles. Then Continue on Forest Service Road 1376. Then go left onto Forest Service Road 1917. Drive all the way past Quail Prairie Lookout to the trailhead.

North kalmiopsis Trailhead at Chetco Pass (East Access): This trailhead accesses Upper Chetco Trail #1102 from the east. From Selma, OR drive west on the Illinois River road 4103 about 12 miles to the Illinois River Falls parking area. With a 4x4 vehicle you can pass the low water bridge at McCaleb Ranch and drive on up Forest Road 087 to Chetco Pass. Forest Road 087 is not recommended for a 2 wheel drive vehicle.

The east Chetco access on Forest Road 087 is very rough and is occasionally block by rock fall or fallen trees from the Biscuit fire.

No facilties available at the east trailhead.
