From Prospect, OR, travel north on Highway 62 for 12 miles to the junction of Highway 230. Continue on Highway 230 for 18 miles to Crater Rim Viewpoint parking area. Hike along the Upper Rogue River Trail #1034 southwest for 0.5 miles to the junction of the Boundary Springs Trail. Follow the route as above, continuing past Crater Rim Viewpoint for two miles to Lake West road 6530-760. Turn right and follow for three miles to the Boundary Springs Trail, crossing immediately before the road crosses the Upper Rogue Wild and Scenic River. This road is rough and not recommended for passenger cars.
