Rockport Reservoir

Rockport Reservoir, Weber Basin Project, was formed by the construction of Wanship Dam on the Weber River. Recreation management at Rockport Reservoir is performed by the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation under agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation. This reservoir is situated 5 miles south of Wanship and has a surface area of 1080 acres when full. The elevation is approximately 6,040 feet. The managed recreation season is year-round with high use during the summer season and ice fishing in the winter. Common fish species include rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, and brown trout. Fees charged. Reservations are accepted for certain campsites. Wanship and Crandall Canyon U.S. Geological Service maps cover the area. Stream fishing opportunities exist below the reservoir.

Directions

All weather access. 45 miles east of Salt Lake City. From Salt Lake City, Utah, go east on I-80 to Wanship/Rockport State Park exit. Turn right and go 4 miles on Highway 32.
