Hiking to Weir Pond
Hiking to Weir Pond

A hike to Weir Pond takes you through successional old fields and mesic successional hardwood forests before reaching the more than 115-year old artificial pond. It's a 3/4-mile round-trip hike from the visitor center to the beginning of the pond.

Weir Studio
Weir Studio

Built in 1885, the Weir Studio was the primary working studio for Julian Alden Weir while he lived at his Branchville home. Today, the studio has been restored to circa 1910 to showcase how Julian would have used the studio space. The Weir Studio is open from Spring to Fall every year. Come and take part in a tradition more than 130-years old. Either bring your own art supplies and create a masterwork on the grounds from sunrise to sunset everyday of the year. Young Studio
Young Studio

PLEASE NOTE: There are a limited number of parking spaces available in the parking lot. The parking lot cannot accommodate RVs, buses, or other large vehicles. Parking lot is across from visitor center. FROM THE NORTH -Take I-84 to Exit 3 for Route 7 S. -Follow Route 7 South about 10 miles. -Turn right onto Route 102 West at a traffic light. -Take 2nd left onto Old Branchville Road. -Turn left at first stop sign onto Nod Hill Road. -Follow Nod Hill Road one mile to the top of the hill. -Arrive at 735 Nod Hill Road.
