San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park Tours
Come aboard our brand new 1895 lumber schooner! Everything you see, step on, and touch on the deck of this paradoxical vessel is new, but it is steeped in history. CA THAYER is the very last Pacific lumber schooner in existence. Learn about the ongoing restoration that has made this vessel new again, and the history that it sailed through, bringing finished lumber from the rocky Pacific coast to where it was needed, be that Fiji, Hawaii,or Santa Barbara. Learn how the lumber boom of the 19th century was the dot-com of the era, and what happened to the lumber schooners when times changed. THAYER had a long and varied series of careers to get to our Park, so come and hear about some of the adventures it had along the way.

The one dollar ($1) reservation fee serves to hold the purchaser's place on the tour of the historic ship C. A. Thayer and is not refundable. An entrance fee of fifteen dollars ($15) is still required for adults to attend this program and may be purchased at the fee booth at the entrance to Hyde Street Pier. The pier is located at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Hyde Street, San Francisco, CA 94109.
Children under sixteen years of age are free. Any visitor holding a valid interagency pass, i.e., America the Beautiful, Senior, Military, Access, or Fourth Grade passes, enter free and my bring up to three additional adults into the park with that pass.
The program meets on the main deck of C. A. Thayer at 2:15 PM on both Saturdays and Sundays.
