Notice:

Tours begin June 17 - August 26, Mondays from 2:00 pm - 4:30pm. Minimum # of paying passengers for tour to go is 4. Tours are occasionally canceled due to poor weather conditions, or an insufficient number of passengers. You can call the visitor center 1 hour prior to the scheduled tour time to ensure it will take place.

Tour Description

Board the Borealis tour boat and cruise to historic Hoist Bay in Namakan Lake while searching for active bald eagle nests and other wildlife. Join a park naturalist for a 1/4 mile walk through the remains of an old logging camp and resort. Tours run from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm.

Know Before You Go

No smoking. Food is not allowed on the boat but water is. There is no restroom aboard the boat. Jackets, mosquito spray and sunscreen are recommended.


Accessibility

The boat is accessible, but the 1/4 mile walk is not.


Directions

From Duluth MN., drive about 2.5 hours to County Road 122. Take a right on County Road 122 and travel 2.5 miles to the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center. The Borealis tour boat is just outside the visitor center.


Note: Some Tours may be available only from the Tour Park on a first-come-first-served basis. Arrival dates earlier than the online-reservation-window may also be available at the Tour Park.
