Notice:

In order to minimize the spread of White Nose Syndrome, a fungus that has resulted in the death of over one million bats in the eastern United States, Mammoth Cave National Park has instituted stringent disinfection procedures for all off-trail spelunking tours this summer. All equipment and outerwear including gloves will be provided by the Park. Visitors must provide their own boots. No personal caving equipment allowed. No Exceptions. Shorts and t-shirt recommended for wear under required coveralls.
CANCELLATION POLICY - IF CANCELLING WITHIN 10 DAYS PRIOR TO TOUR DATE CANCELLATION FEE OF $6.00 PER TICKET APPLIES.

MUST BE AT LEAST 10 YRS. OF AGE TO PARTICIPATE ON THIS TOUR.

Ticket ages: Youth - ages 10 - 12, Adult - ages 13 & over, Interagency Senior - 62 & over, Interagency Access - no age requirement. Interagency Annual Pass is NOT accepted for cave tours.

Any youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on this tour.

Will Call pickup: 30 minutes prior to tour time.

TOUR REQUIREMENTS: Over-the-ankle laced boots with aggressive tread. INSUFFICIENT FOOTWEAR WILL RESULT IN DENIED ACCESS. Chest or hip size larger than 42-44 inches will NOT fit through crawl spaces. To meet safety requirements there must be a minimum of 2 visitors on tour.

Visitors with known heart or repiratory problems, poor circulation or difficulty walking long distances and negotiating stairs, should not take this tour. Evacuation from the cave to a hospital for medical attention could take several hours.

If you have a fear of heights or suffer from claustrophobia, this tour is not the best choice for you. Please read tour descriptions carefully when making your selection.

A good choice for families who want to learn and experience the basics of responsible caving. This tour is difficult, and visits passages off traditional tour routes. It requires some hands and knees crawling and squeezing through narrow openings on the belly.

Know Before You Go

Tour Park Facility Operational Hours: Tours run every day except Christmas Day. Visitor Center closes early on Christmas Eve. Visitor Center hours vary with season. Must be at least 10 years of age. Children ages 10 - 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Organized youth groups must have at least 2 adult representatives.
