Notice:

For visits to the National Archives and Records Administration:
Reservations are not required for entrance to the National Archives Experience.

Through our general public entrance, visitors may wait in the general public line for entry at any time the museum is open. However, advance reservations are highly recommended and will allow visitors to avoid the exterior portion of the line to see the Charters of Freedom during the height of the tourist season (mid-March through Labor Day) and during holiday seasons such as the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. When booking advanced reservations, you must include all members of your party, regardless of age.

The entrance to the National Archives is located on Constitution Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets NW.

Reservation Holders:
  • You must present your reservation Confirmation Letter to gain access into the National Archives.
  • Reservation holders should be in line outside the entrance at least 10 minutes prior to the start time of their visit.
  • Security screening will begin at the start of your visit.
