Campbell Creek Science Center Public Programs
THIS CLASS COSTS $35 plus a registration fee of $1. IF YOU REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS, YOU WILL PAY THE $1 REGISTRATION FEE NOW AND THE $35 CLASS FEE AT THE DOOR.
This two-session short course will equip you with the tools and knowledge you need to identify plants, whether you are in Alaska or Argentina.
The first session will cover the basics of leaves, stems, and growth forms. The second session will cover the basics of flower and fruit structure. Both sessions will include time for participants to apply what they learn. Cindy Johnson, a retired plant biology professor and award-winning instructor, will teach the course.
This two-part class will take place on June 3 and June 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. One ticket gets you into both sessions.
Please bring a notebook, pen or pencil, and a camera (a smartphone works). Hand lenses and handouts provided.
Note: If there is no "A" on a program date when attempting to select an event date, that means the event is sold out. We hope you'll join us for a future event!

This program will take place both indoors and outdoors. Dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures on Campbell Tract can often be 10 degrees colder than in other parts of Anchorage.
The Campbell Tract is home to many types of wildlife, including moose and bears. Always pay attention for wild animals, give them lots of space, and practice “bear aware” techniques (e.g., travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray).
Park in the main Science Center parking lot and follow the signs to take the walking path to the Main Entrance.
Please bring a notebook, pen or pencil, and a camera (a smartphone works).
Hand lenses and handouts will be provided.
