Campbell Creek Science Center Public Programs
Enjoy a fun, cozy evening creating watercolors of birch trees and learning more about Alaska Paper Birch (Betula neoalaskana). This delightful tree is native to Alaska and northern Canada. The art technique is simple and produces beautiful results no matter your experience level.

Need to Know
- Ticket Ages
- Designed for those ages 6 and above.
- Every participant must have a ticket.
- Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver throughout the program.
- Weather
This program may include an outdoor walk in the woods on trails that may be snowy or icy. Dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures on Campbell Tract can often be 10 degrees colder than in other parts of Anchorage.
- Wildlife
The Campbell Tract is home to many types of wildlife, including moose and bears. Always pay attention for wild animals, give them lots of space, and practice “bear aware” techniques (e.g., travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray).
- Directions
Park in the main Science Center parking lot and follow the signs to take the walking path to the Main Entrance.
