World Through Spontaneous Watercolors Paint Night
Campbell Creek Science Center Public Programs
Watercolor painting is a fun, creative way, and expressive way of portraying landscapes and natural subjects. This program begins with a quick exploration of color mixing, then introduces splatter, spritz, tilt, and smear techniques to create neat effects for a scenic background. The program then moves outside for painting time in a natural setting.
All materials provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own watercolor journal.
For ages 12 and up.

Need to Know
- Ticket Ages
- Open to those 12 years and older.
- Every participant must have a ticket.
- Everyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult caregiver throughout the program.
- Wildlife
The Campbell Tract is home to many types of wildlife, including moose and bears. Always pay attention for wild animals, give them lots of space, and practice “bear aware” techniques (e.g., travel in groups, make noise, and carry bear spray).
- Directions
Park in the main Science Center parking lot and follow the signs to take the walking path to the Main Entrance.
- Weather
This program will include time outdoors to pain in a natural setting. Please dress for the weather. Temperatures on Campbell Tract can often be 10 degrees colder than in other parts of Anchorage.
- Materials
All materials provided. Participants are free to bring their own watercolor journal.
